Rates and Policies:
1) Attendance Policy: Because learning the art of singing and piano requires regular lessons and practice, students should try their best to be consistently available during their agreed lesson time. Please be on time for your lessons. Normally, I cannot extend your lesson past the scheduled time. 24 hours notice is required to reschedule a lesson.
2) Make-up Lessons/Rescheduling: If a student is ill, I wish to be notified as soon as it is convenient so that a lesson change can be made. If there is a general conflict, I need to know a week or two in advance because often a lesson switch can be arranged. All lessons missed due to scheduling conflicts for the student or me will be made up at an agreeable time. I will sometimes schedule a double lesson to save additional trips for the student and parents or add fifteen minutes for several weeks.
3) Musical Expectations: Please arrive to each lesson with your assigned repertoire, assignment notebook, and pencil. Continual practice is necessary for full benefit of lessons. Students with disciplined and organized regular practice sessions make the most progress. Occasionally, circumstances will arise where a student will not be able to practice as much as usual. In this case, the lesson will be a supervised practice session, not a missed lesson. Students are encouraged to practice a minimum of 30 minutes five days a week.
4) Payment: Students make the best progress when they take regular lessons and make a commitment to themselves and their craft. It is for this reason that I ask for a month-to-month commitment. Students are guaranteed an average of four lessons per month. Lesson tuition is due in advance on the last lesson day of every month.
30-minute lesson: $120 per month
45-minute lesson: $160 per month
60-minute lesson: $200 per month
5) Musical Materials Fee: An estimate of music costs for the first year of lessons can range from $50-$100 depending upon the progress, age, and ambition of the student.
6) Performance Opportunities: There will be two recitals each year. This is an important opportunity and all students are strongly encouraged to attend and take advantage of these performing opportunities.
I am committed to working with you and bringing the highest quality of teaching to you that I can. Thank you in return for your commitment.
Sincerely,
Lisa Kelly-Willis
