About Lisa Kelly-Willis:

Lisa Kelly-Willis is a private voice and piano instructor living in Austin, Texas. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Connecticut and a Master’s Degree in Voice Performance from the University of Texas.

Growing up in Kaiserslautern, Germany, Lisa performed in her first professional opera at the age of 13 with the Ludwigshafen Opera Theatre’s production of Street Scene. Highlights of her operatic performances include the role of the Dew Fairy in Hansel and Gretel with the Butler Opera Center and the role of Alba in Austin Lyric Opera’s Outreach production of La Curandera. She has performed as a soprano section leader and soloist at Tarrytown Methodist Church and Saint Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. She has also performed with the Austin Lyric Opera Chorus and Conspirare Symphonic Choir. 

Lisa's teaching career began as an elementary music teacher in the West Hartford Public Schools in Connecticut. She has also worked as a choir director and music teacher at Vandegrift High School, Four Points Middle School, Bailey Middle School, and Trinity Episcopal School. Her choirs have received Sweepstakes/First Division rankings at UIL Concert and Sight-reading Competitions. As a private instructor, she has taught at Westlake and Anderson High School and maintains a private home studio. Several of her voice students have been selected for the TMEA All-State Choir, earned Superior Ratings at the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Competition, performed in music theater productions and operas, and received music scholarships to universities. Lisa is also a registred Music Together instructor, a research based early childhood music education program. As a private voice and piano instructor, Lisa enjoys working with students of all ages and abilities, adults too. 

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Steve, three year old son Maxwell, one year old daughter Clementine, and their dog Livie. She loves running marathons and has been a member of the Gilbert Gazelles running group in Austin. She also enjoys yoga and has completed the 200-hour Hatha Teacher Training program at Yoga Yoga.
